Once again, it's been another month.....

So it's been another month since the last post....eeks. We are doing great and just loving our little peanut more and more every day! He is SO much fun these days, cooing and chattering all the time!! He's a noisy little guy! He rolls over all the time now, and almost always ends up sleeping that way in his crib now. He LOVES rice cereal and anything else we give him - baby food carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, applesauce, whatever, he'll take it! He now is showing his love for everyone by grabbing their face and putting his wide-open, drool-filled mouth up to them! It's pretty sweet, although painful & messy at times :). We went on a walk tonight and it was so nice to be able to be outside with him - we are looking forward to great days outside ahead.

He is a busy boy, so everyone tells us. He is always wanting to be playing with something, watching someone, or rolling around on the floor. He found his feet a few weeks back and is obsessed! Get those stupid socks of me and let me get my foot in my mouth, please! Haha, it's a hoot. He can (sort of) sit up, although he has a ways to go with that. He is such a happy little love, wakes up smiling (in the pic on here) every morning, he's such a joy!

Allrighty, better run, but I promise I'll get better at this....although I should probably stop saying that because I'm making myself look like a liar it seems :).

It's Spring!!

We are SO glad that spring is here and good weather is maybe finally heading our way! We are looking forward to going on walks and being able to be outside more! Caden (basically) rolled over for the first time today. He's been really close, and today he got 90% of the way there, just got an arm stuck. So, I'm calling it rolled over! He can sit up now with support, although he quickly becomes the leaning tower so we have to be on the lookout! He is so much fun now, laughing all the time and just changing by the minute :)! We go for his 4 month well check a week from today, and I cannot wait! I'm hoping we can start on baby foods, or at least rice cereal soon! He is outgrowing his clothes way too quickly, so I've already accepted the fact that my son will probably be in 12 month clothes before the summer is over - oh well! He is getting more and more hair finally growing back, and it is pretty light. I keep saying he looks like a little hatched baby chick! So darn cute! Anyhow, we are doing great! So busy we don't know what to do with ourselves, not sure where the time goes....But, we're having a blast with our baby and soaking up every minute of it that we can. We love you, Caden!!

Remember when I was going to get better about posting?? Oops. Maybe in 2010. Wait, that sounds like a New Years resolution, and I'm not doing those...oh well. Really, I'll try to get better.

Caden is growing like crazy and changing every day! He's hold his head really well. He smiles. He laughs. He CHUGS his bottle. He sleeps 5-6 hours at a time at night sometimes. He puts himself back to sleep sometimes. He responds to people's voices. He has some MAJOR bad diapers. He is stubborn already :). He's decided he doesn't need to burp in the middle of bottles anymore. He is filling out 3 month clothing well and will soon outgrow it. He's in size 1 diapers. He weighs 12 lbs 12 oz. He is 23 3/4 inches long. He got his vaccinations last week. He looks like me as a baby, I'm told. He is getting blonde peach fuzz on his head. He is in love with his mobile. He opens his mouth for kisses when Milo comes near. (I think I missed a makeout session between the two of them that initiated this reaction from Caden every time he sees Milo....nice). He's adorable. He's 2 months old. He has a mommy and daddy a little too in love with him :). The end.

I know, I'm slow.......

So I've been really bad at posting new things to the site lately. Little Mr. Caden and I haven't seem to found much time for posting new things to the blog. Oops! Anyhoo, we're doing great! Caden is 5 weeks old today. He went to the doctor Monday, and he is 10 lbs 3.5 oz and 21 1/2 inches. He's in about the 50th percentile for both. He's growing like a weed!!

He's gotten so much more alert already. He recognizes us, and follows things around the room now. He has gotten really strong and holds his head up when on his tummy and tries to push himself up. Oh, and as of a couple days after Thanksgiving, we're lost the hair on the top of our head. We've adopted an old man mullet, it's prety sweet! Don't be jealous of Caden's locks, everyon!

We're pretty attached to the little booger :). He's doing much better at nights - getting up a couple of times to eat, but usually going about 4 to 5 hours between feedings. Lovely :).

We're so excited for Christmas with our baby boy, as a family. What a blessing he is to our lives! Here's a couple new pictures of him - hope all is well with you!

Due Date = A Tuesday with Caden :)

For so long November 10th was such a huge day - the day Caden was due to arrive :). But, since he arrived last Wednesday, November 4th, today ends up being "just a Tuesday :)" Kinda funny to me.

We are doing great - sorry so long for the post, but all you moms understand :). Caden is adorable and wonderful in every way. He is sleeping well, eating well, and wrapping mom & dad right around his little finger day by day, haha. He has decided 10 pm to 2 am is kind of a good time to hang out and have some fun, but hopefully slowly we can convince him to switch that to Central Standard time and let that be the time mom and dad can sleep some :). But, considering he's 6 days old, we're doing pretty good on the sleeping thing!

Caden was born at 8:28 pm on Wednesday, November 4th. It was a wonderful day! I didn't sleep Tuesday night, as I was having contractions off & on, but wasn't sure whether or not I should go in - didn't want to be the girl with false labor. So, finally at 2:30 I decided we should go in "just to be sure" nothing was happening. We arrived to the hospital at 3:00 am, and they hooked me up to a monitor and had me drink lot's of water and lay down for 1 1/2 hours. When the contractions were consistenly still there & getting stronger, they called the doctor and the doctor said to admit me. Today was going to be the day our son was born (hopefully!!).

So, we got all settled into our room by about 5:00 am and then I called my mom and sister. They were besides themselves and couldn't get to the hospital fast evough on their standards! Anyhow, a while later Kelly joined us and Bryan came, too. We were playing games and hanging out, I was so blessed to have my great circle with me.

The doctor came in at 8 and broke my water. I need to get this typed before baby wakes so I won't get into all the details until later, but by 7:30 pm I was finally complete & ready to push. They had me start pushing at 8:00, but then after 2 pushes the nurse told me I had to stop b/c the head was right there, and the doctor wasn't. So, at 8:10 the doctor came flying into the room, got her scrubs on, and my contractions stopped. They upped pitocin, they started again right away, I began pushing and after about 5 or 6 pushes (10 minutes or so), he was here!! It was amazing! I will post more pics later.

I just can't believe how much I love this little guy - I was put on this earth to be a wife and mommy, if nothing else, I know that :). It is just the greatest & we are so blessed. I can't say enough about Jared and how incredible he was through all of this. He never left my side and took such good care of me both at the hospital and as I am recovering. I couldn't imagine doing it all without him - he is amazing!

Well, gotta run - more later!

Thanks for all your support - can't wait for Caden to get to know YOU!!

Any day now, little man......

We had a doctor's appointment Thursday morning - sorry I'm a little slow in posting an update about it. I've been battling sinus crud since last Tuesday, and still not feeling real whippy. So, I'm a little slow :).

Doctor predicted on Thursday that I might just have this baby this weekend - I was close to 2 cm dialated and 70% efaced, which I'm told is good for a first baby. Anyhow, she said she wouldn't be suprised if I went on my own this weekend or very soon. Despite my feeble attempts to help baby along, he hasn't made his grand entrance yet, obviously! My next appointment is Thursday morning, so if he hasn't made it by then, she said we will 'decide what we want to do.'

So, hopefully if not sooner by Thursday I will know when little man will arrive! He has dropped and it's a wee bit uncomfortable these days, but those are all good signs! If I'd just kick this congestion crud that keeps hanging on, I'd be in much better spirits.

We'll keep everyone updated - shouldn't be long now! I keep reminding baby that we have lot's of cute clothes for him and 'cool' stuff in his room, if he'd just come out. But, I guess he thinks it's cozy in there - whatever! I'll try really hard to keep being patient, as a week is nothing in the grand scheme of things!

Talk to you soon!
