No looking back

Well I have officially failed my blog. My daughter is a year old tommorow and I have spent the last six months trying to get caught up on my blog rather than just moving forward. Subsequently I have barely posted a thing. It makes me sad because I love blogging, but there's no looking back now....just a fresh start :). We will chalk the last year up as the craziest of my life, and move forward hoping I have enough blog entries to actually have a blog book again for the upcoming year.

Caden and Iz. Cousins forever friends always.

These two.

I can't get enough of it.

Love each other so much.

Can't get enough of each other.

Crack each other up all the time.

They are so close they are like siblings.

They quarrel so much they are like siblings.

Caden does the little things like whisper to Iz to do something mischievous he knows she didn't do. You know. Like a big brother would.

You get the idea.  They are so attached to each other. Couldn't have wrote it better myself. Thank you Lord :).

Wednesday Grammy Days

Grammy has Wednesdays off now, so this summer we tried to have fun with Grammy those days when we could! She spoils the kids (and us mommies :) ) crazy!!! We live Grammy and our sweet memories made together.

Here we go summer........

We love this time of year!  It seems we spend all winter battling with Caden to stay in the house and find something to do, so it's so great to just open up the sliders and let him run out back!  It's also time for swimming lessons again, which Caden loves oh so dearly!  His teacher is and has been for the last few sessions, Miss Sierra (or Miss Surrrrra as CW says :)).  He does really well and enjoys it.  I feel like it's one of the best things we can enroll him in, to have him learn to swim, and he feels like it's a real treat every Wednesday night, so I guess we're both winning.  He has always done lessons with his girlfriend, Lizzy, so they are two peas in a pod in the pool.  Oh, fun times.  Cousin Izzie is also taking a swimming class the same time as them along with Henry, Lizzy's little bro, so it's lots of fun.

Avery is changing by the minute.  Jared and I just made the comment the other day that she is suddenly changing so much.  We have officially reached the phases of.........getting mad if she gets something taken away from her that she had.........thinking mommy should hold her when she can see me........rolling to her tummy to sleep a lot......getting really excited when Jared or I come home............all the fun stuff :).  And signs she is in fact turning into her own little personality.  Look out, world, we have another Meyer getting ready to take on the world I guess haha.

In other news of 'look out world', these two are officially on the sidewalks.  Look out indeed.  Things just got a little more dangerous out there :).  CW was at T's house last week and there was a yard sale down the road.  They wandered down there and found this red Mustang power wheels in mint condition.  Couldn't leave it there!  Luckily Caden was with them, so they in fact really didn't have to leave it there......he was the only one that could drive it home!!  Haha.  It's so fun to see Caden and the Iz together.  They are playing together more and more independent as a twosome day by day.  Of course with that comes the typical happenings of a 3-year-old thinking he is in charge of a one-year-old, and things get a little hairy sometimes.  But it's fun nonetheless.

We found out that Avery will indeed get a helmet.  She gets scanned Wednesday and it will take about ten days to get made.  She also has torticollis in her neck (tightening of muscles on 1 side of her neck), so she starts physical therapy for that Tuesday.  Poor girl!!  Between Avery's appointments and the ones Mommy and Daddy each have these days, things seem to just get wacky-doodley-doo'er by the day, haha.

Like I always say, hold on tight and enjoy the ride........I don't think this one is slowing down anytime soon :).

Sibling Love

Caden has been a good big brother since the day he met little Miss Aves. He was old enough to understand/be somewhat careful with her, yet young enough to find her interesting/not be affected too much by her entrance into the world.

In the last month, he has been even more 'into' her.  He just can't get enough of her.  And he looks out for her.  I feel sorry for anyone that misses with this chic in the future :).  Caden will put up a good fight.  Love that she has a big brother to always have her back.  Might take a little stress off daddy in the future :).
It's so cute because he repeats things we say to Avery, in his own little Caden way of course.

"Oh sweetie, you getting so growed up!"

"You gonna be a big boy!"

"Oh Presh, you sweet fing, I wuv you so much baby, I do."

"Oh honey, I will miss you, you have a good day and be a good girl, I'll see you soon" - to Avery when she was going to daycare one day and he was going to T's
The other day when I got home I started talking to Jared and CW frantically interrupted........"Mommy, tell (ask) Avery if she had a good day.  Ask she if she was a good girrow (girl) at school."  Haha.

Izzie gave Avery a -ahem- pat on the face today, and Caden chimed in (with his Caden attitude), "Izzie, this is not you big brother.  Only me and Avery are big brothers.  You cannot hit she." Haha.  I assume that was his version of, "this is my sister, you can't hit her"......or something like that, right.....

"It's a beautiful day," Caden proclaimed while spinning in the living room.  I'd have to agree son, life is grand .

Start from here and work my way back.............

I know I promised to blog better, and I failed once again.  I have so much to blog and don't know where to start.  So, I will start current and work my way back when I have a chance to.  Otherwise, I will just get further and further behind.  So, here we are, we're starting where we're at :).

Aves is 6 months and pure joy.  PURE JOY.  She is so happy and such a charmer.  I have people tell me all the time she is 'the happiest baby they've ever seen'.  Needless to say, that may or may not be a true statement from each and every person, but we'll take it!

She is full of kisses and love right now.  When I ask for kisses (and sometimes even when I don't) she grabs my face with each of her chubby little hands, opens her mouth, and goes to town.  Kisses, kisses, kisses. 1 or 2 gallons of slobber on me each time.  I love it.  Slobber away, cutie patootie!!

We did her 6 mos checkup last week and all went pretty well.  She is 75% for height and weight (26 1/2 inches, 17 lbs 4 oz).  Her head is rockin' it at 99 percentile.  Doc is a little worried about the shape of her head (ahem) and the fact that she isn't sitting up/her body is proportionately so much smaller than her head.  So anyhoo, we had to do scull xrays to see if all is still lining up okay, etc.  We haven't heard back yet but should tommorow.
Mr Caden is changing by the minute and keeping me on my toes now more than ever it seems!  We are getting the 'anger bursts' when we get frustrated, the attitude, the whole nine yards sometimes.  Where did this come from you wild man?  Haha.  It seems time outs are frequent but so are hugs and laughs, too.  Emotional rollercoaster it seems, allbeit a great one most of the time.

He just finished up another year at Dimensions, and although he'll still be in the toddler room for the summer, he will officially be a preschooler in the fall.  But we won't go there yet, or I'll have to start therapy even sooner, haha.  He is so ready for it.  Drawing circles, counting with his fingers, working on saying his 'L's' better, asking lots of questions, not missing a beat, the kid is ready to be in preschool.  So, although I'd like to tuck him in a ball and baby him forever, people tend to frown on that, so I'll work on embracing that come fall :).
He says things all the time that crack me up.  Some that come to mind right now are......"Hannitizer" (hand sanitizer).  "Adodable" (adorable).  "What size is that?" (how much does that cost?).  "Potato" (tomato).  "This is a worse idea" (when something bad happens)

Also, something coming in really handy in recent weeks, he is convinced 5 minutes is longer than 10.  So when I say we can do something for 10 minutes, he argues "No 5 PLEASE!!!!!"   Uh, deal :).

Hello, long lost blog........

Much to my dismay, it has been nearly 6 months since I actually posted to my lovely little blog.  Each month I think, I have to get caught up on that, and after a few months it frankly has become so intimidating how behind I am that I could get myself to try to get caught up.

BUT.......I want to keep the blog and keep everyone updated, so I am officially going to get y'all caught up, starting today.

Since I last wrote so much has happened.  I could go though all the excuses......but instead will just get working.

So stay tuned........big things are coming this blogs way, haha.
