Words

I'm trying to be good about keeping track of new words he says, so here it goes :).

Today's words (2 of them!!)........

"Copper" - Aunt Linda watched him for a few hours today, and Caden called her dog, Copper, by name, very clearly, several times :).

"Grandpa" - He was at Grammy and Grandpa's tonight, and said "Grandpa" several times.  And it was in context, as far as when he was looking at Grandpa and/or trying to get his attention.

So cute!!

I Live for Little Moments Like This....

A couple of weeks ago mom had Grandpa D come over and visit when she had Caden at her house.  She sent me these pics today that she'd taken on her phone.

How special and amazing is that?!?!  Caden gets to color and spend time with his Great-Grandpa!!  I think it is so wonderful that Caden has 2 great-grandma's and 2 great-grandpa's in his life.  They all know him, and it is my hope that Caden can be fortunate enough to know them some day, too.  You know, be old enough to remember them and remember special times with them.  Lovely :).

OUR March Madness.......Photo style :).

Hanging out at Uncle Brian's suprise 30th Birthday party!

Convincing Aunite Jaime and Grandma to give him more candy :)

Stealing cake from Grandad

Chillaxing at the party....again.....what a stud!

Uncle Brian's uncle who Caden befriended at the party.  It was a riot!

Caught him trying Daddy's shoes on the other day.  Too cute.

Playing in the garage on a chilly morning...nothing keeps this child inside these days.

Precious Moments.  Playing golf with Great-Grandpa Olson

Showing Great-Grandpa his new toy Grammy and him picked out.

Playing cards.  CW is pretty sure it's an intense game.  Great-Grandpa probably agrees.

Doing the i Pad thing with Uncle B

Concentrating (hence the mouth open :)) on Uncle B's tool.

Grammy wearing Grandpa's glasses while we played a game for her birthday.  What a cute Grammy!!

Celebrating Grammy's birthday....Great-Grandpa D joined us!

Happy Birthday, Grammy!

Serious face at the circus.

Grammy's Birthday request?  To take CW to the circus.  So we did.  And Grammy bought CW his first icee.  He made quite the face :).

And then he got intense on drinking his icee.  I mean it was serious.  A brain freeze couldn't even stop this wild man.

Leaving the circus with his new light-up sword.

Grammy and CW with his cool new toy.

New climber for summer.  Before assembly.  Ugh....lots of work.

CW "helping" daddy put it all together.

At one point, poor Jared had both dogs and CW under the climber helping assemble it.  Luckily God blessed this man with patience :).

Concentrating so, so hard on getting it put together!

So excited.

Big boy partying at Asher's birthday party.

Sitting at the table like a big boy with all the kiddos.

Playing in the bounce house.

Asher, Elizabeth, and Caden bouncing around.

Asher and Caden "driving."

Playing in the balls.

His "whiny...mah, I'm a baby!!" face.

Lizzy getting tired after playing at our house.

Who needs pants??  Not CW apparently.
The girlies playing....Alexis and Elizabeth....so cute.

CW was pretty sure he should sit with Kelly, in addition to here kiddos :).

It's been a lovely month....another one that has yet again gone by so quickly!  Since I was slow at posting pics this month, I decided to do a brief (....yes, this is brief, believe it or not!!) group of pics from the month to let you 'see' what we've all been up to.  Blessings to you all......we are so looking forward to April!  Nice weather, the zoo opens, and mommy & CW get to hang out more!  April, bring it on....we're ready for you!!

That's what I'm doing these days......

Helping Mommy get me dressed by going and getting my shoes when asked.      Also lift my arms once she has my shirt over my head, to put my arms through the holes.      Saying "Quack, quack."     Climbing the steps and going back down them like a champ.      Showing my obsessive-compulsive side, and frankly worrying mommy a bit with it.      Throwing my diapers away after I get changed, and then washing my hands of course.      Playing outside every second I get.      Very sure of what I want people to be doing and instructing them to do so.  Like the other day when Mommy & Daddy had been painting, and I came downstairs and there was a roller and paint brush down there, so I decided mommy and I should "paint."  So, I got a step stool, got the paint brush, gave it to mommy, patted the floor where I wanted her to sit, and proceeded to "paint" with the roller.  Well, when I went into my playroom for a while, do you know what my silly mom did??  She stopped using the paint brush and got up.  So, I had to get the paint brush again, pat the floor AGAIN where I wanted her to sit, and SHOW her that she was supposed to be painting.  Sheesh, good thing I am good at instructions so stuff can get done around here!!      I say "Cracker," "Go, go", "Dog," and a few others at times.      I know where my eyes, nose, and mouth are.....most of the time.  Sometimes I just don't feel like pointing to them like mom wants me to.....she needs to remember I'm not a show dog, just a kid :).      Thanks to Grammy teaching me this, I now find the nearest adult any time I get anything on my hands, and wipe my hands off on their pants.      I am good at following instructions, too, like "Go sit on your chair and bring you sippy, and Mommy will bring you a snack."  And I do it, isn't that great??      I love to give real hugs, especially to babies.  A lot of times I just lay my head on them and that's my way of hugging them.      I give real kisses, too.  The slobbery ones that everyone loves, ha.      According to Mommy and Daddy, I'm changing by the minute & seem to come up with a new word every day right now.

Yep, that's what I'm doing these days......

New Shoes. Big Feet. Crazy Excited Boy.

Caden holds the record for Incident Reports he has had written up on him at Dimensions.  In the 2 days he was there this week, he had two of them.  Tuesday, tripped & fell when he was on a walk with the "Big Kids" (18 mos to 2 year-old class) and scraped his face/got a bruise.  Thursday, was walking through classroom and fell and hit head on sensory table, and got an awesome scrape and bump to prove it.

Then last night I suddenly realized that his toes were at the end of his shoes!!  Although he is exctremely accident-prone, I couldn't help but wonder if his shoes were bugging him and causing him to trip more.  And, feel like mom of the year for having my son in shoes that were almost too small for who knows how long :).  I'm trusting that I noticed right after his feet had a sudden growth spurt, in an effort to make myself feel better :).

So what's the jist of this??  Well, CW and I were off to find him some new shoes tonight and we were successful!  Not only were we successful, but Caden was SO wound up when I put his new shoes on him once we got home!!  He ran around like crazy, kept bending down to look at his shoes, danced, clapped.....and maybe crawled up on the speaker and table a time or two........and I might've snapped a pic before I made him get down, just because it was a good "Shoe shot."  But, maybe I didn't really do that....wouldn't that be encouraging what he's doing, taking a pic of him doing it??  Right, I wouldn't do that.

Did I mention that his feet are enormous.  As in, Size 7 at 16 months old.  Hopefully that means he's going to be tall and not just a great candidate for a clown some day.  Whew, he's got some huge velveeta block feet :).  Good thing he's cute, haha.  We'll still keep him, giant feet and all.

Playdate.

Kelly, Asher and Alexis came over on Wednesday for a playdate.  I think Asher got 3 inches in the house before Caden was grabbing him and trying to play rough with him :).  He loves Asher and they are total boys playing together.  It's great!!  So glad they could come over and play!!

Story Time.....Dr. Seuss Style

Danell invited us to tag along with her, Katina, and Adrianna to story time at Gere Library Monday night.  There were so many kiddos there, it was insane!  We had a good time, though.  Caden got to do crafts, meet the Cat in the Hat, and listen to a few Dr. Seuss books.  But, it was getting later and he was getting tired, so we headed out before it was completely over.  It was worth it, though.
