We're having a BOY!!

Hello everyone!! We are so excited to announce that we are having a sweet little BABY BOY!!

We are so thrilled. He cooperated so well for the ultrasound and was not afraid to show us that he is in fact a boy!!


The ultrasound was so amazing - every little organ and body part working together already! It's such a miracle. They said baby is measuring about 3 days ahead of schedule, so just perfect. He is 1 lb. 1 oz. and everything is growing and developing just as it should be. He's just our little miracle!


We are so excited! And, our family is anxious to finally have a little boy around! It'll just be so much fun! Dad is already looking into the 2014 football schedule to see which game should be little guy's first Husker game - haha.


Let the preparations begin!! Shopping, here I come!! Haha - I'll try to hold myself back, but this is just so much fun! Thanks for sharing in the excitement with us - we love you all!

T Minus 5 Days and 22 hours

In case anyone is keeping track - haha, probably not as obsessively as I am - that is how long we have until we find out if this is a boy or girl inside of me!! I can't wait, can you tell?? The blog will look different once I know, because I'll make it boy-ish or girl-ish, duh!! That's part of the fun of finding out, right?? So, the countdown continues!!

I'm feeling great and can't believe how fast time is going!! I'm over 1/2 way there now, and just feel completely blessed to be having this experience! We're so pumped! Jared will be SUCH a good dad - he is so excited and can't wait to find out if he'll have a son or daughter!!

A Movin' and a Shakin'!!!

Last night I felt peanut move for the first time!! It was crazy!! I was laying in bed watching TV, and kept wondering what in the world I ate that was making my stomach 'bubble' and 'flutter' so much. (I'm kind of slow these days!!). Then I realized it wasn't bubbles - it was peanut moving around!! It lasted for a couple of minutes, then came back a couple of times for a minute or two. Just little flutters - so cute & so amazing!!

Soon it will be big feet and hands and will feel like much more than a cute little flutter, I'm sure!! I think I fall asleep too soon to ever feel it at night - maybe it will happen again tonight!! This is just too much fun!

The summer heat definitely hit here today - pregnant in the summer might be interesting, but I can handle it. Bring on the heat!!

Oh, and in case anyone's counting.....T minus 2 weeks and 5 days until the ultrasound!! Not that I'm excited or anything :).

Heartbeat Heard, Ultrasound Scheduled :)

We had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Heartbeat was hanging right around 160 the whole time. It was so amazing! The heartbeat was twice as loud as last time - growing stronger already!! Also, we could hear baby kicking, which was so stinkin' cute. I still can't feel movement, but probably won't for a few weeks more.

We are quickly realizing how fast time does go......in 2 weeks I'll be 1/2 way there!! What a miracle!! Our ultrasound is officially scheduled for July 6th. At this appointment they will check the anatomy of the baby, making sure everything measures okay, and they will tell us the gender of the baby as well!! Woohoo!! No more referring to baby as "it" - it'll be "he" or "she"!!! So, we're very excited for that appointment, knowing it will be here before we know it, as the month is so busy and time flies!!

Everyone keeps saying they want to see a pic of me with a "belly." This isn't a "belly" shot - sorry, I think those are kinda weird to post!! But, it's a pic of me and Jared at a wedding last weekend - yep, and the baby bump!!!

The First Big Purchase......

We got the crib!! It's so much fun to have something set up in the room that's for baby - it feels even more real now!! I'd been looking at cribs and finally decided on this one. It's so pretty and fits great in the (tiny) room that will be baby's!!

It took a while to put together - way too many parts!!! And of course, I'm sure it was my handing Jared the tools - a screwdriver I think??, and the dog's stealing all the tiny parts that really made the process go a lot faster for Jared - haha!! (Sarcasm, of course!!)

It's so cute, I can't quit staring at it!! I have the dresser/changer picked out, but we'll wait for a while to buy that - we have some time, and buying it slowly makes it seem cheaper, right?!?!?

Our next appointment is Monday at 4:00 pm. We will get to hear the heartbeat again of course, and schedule our ultrasound for July - woohoo!!

The Heartbeat....

So I'm a little slow at posting this......we had our appointment last Monday (May 11th) and got to hear the heartbeat of our sweet little baby! Pretty much the greatest sound I've ever heard. The doctor said it was a "good, strong heartbeat", and it was pretty steady at 161. Also high, so I'm told.

We're just getting more and more excited by the day, even though there's still a long ways to go!! It will be here fast at the rate time is going right now!! I ordered a crib last week and just got a call last night that it is in for us to pick up!! Yippee! I will go to pick it up Sunday, and I'm guessing that is how Jared will spend Memorial Day......putting our little peanut's crib together!! How awesome!

Our next appointment is June 9th. We will hear the heartbeat again at that one. Then, the next appointment after that is the really exciting one.......WE GET TO FIND OUT IF IT'S A BOY OR GIRL!! Yep, that first week in July is when I have my next ultrasound and we'll get to find out!! I'm just praying peanut cooperates so they can tell me and it's not "inconclusive"....might be hard to talk Jared into footing the bill for an extra ultrasound to try to find out again!! Haha!!

13 Weeks

I am officially 13 weeks along tommorow, May 5th! One week from today is my next appointment (May 11th), at which time we will get to hear the heartbeat for the first time!! We cannot wait! I'm feeling great and wouldn't even know I'm pregnant except for this suddenly-appearing bump on the front of me. Oh, and I guess Jared would say the fact that I can't stay awake most of the time is another clue that I am in fact preggo!!

Since the heartbeat was so high, at 174, everyone's convinced it's a girl. I'm not really, really convinced one way or the other, so I think either way will be a wonderful suprise for us come July. Yep, July is when we find out, and yes we're finding out. Sorry, I'm too much of a planner to wait until November to know!!

I'll post an update next week after we hear the heartbeat! Hope you all have a great week. I don't know about you, but it feels like time is flying by already.......I can't believe it's already May. Pretty soon I'll be saying "I can't believe it's November," right?!?!
